Two pieces of sound advice for collectors courtesy of Edy de Wilde, Director of the Stedelijk from 1963 - 1985:
"One should collect not with one's ears but with ones eyes, with one's mind and with one's heart"
"One should avoid reading art magazines."
We say there isn't always harm in using your ears, but then Edy probably hadn't really 'got' album cover art. His loss, hey?
